FortyFive launches with research on the cost of unproven work in field services
FortyFive launches at Capacity Europe and MSP Global and publishes a white paper on where value leaks between field work done and work paid.
London, 12 October 2026 — FortyFive today launched its platform for field services in connectivity and telecoms and published The cost of unproven work, a white paper on where value leaks between work done and work paid. The team is presenting the platform this month at Capacity Europe in London (13–15 October) and MSP Global in PortAventura, Tarragona (21–22 October).
Field work in telecoms passes through a chain of operators, integrators, specialist providers and engineers. A job can be completed without leaving a record that the business accountable to the customer can approve and pay against. The evidence, the approved changes and the agreed rates sit in different systems or separate conversations, and someone has to reconstruct them later.
The white paper sets out five recurring costs of that gap:
- the revisit that could have been avoided, because an acceptance check was missed before the engineer left site;
- rework nobody can attribute, because nobody recorded what was tested;
- the invoice that has to be reconstructed, because the approval for extra work is hard to find;
- the payment waiting for a decision, because acceptance is incomplete;
- the cost of carrying the gap: the working capital tied up between done and paid, which each of the other four makes longer.
Rather than claim a single industry figure, the paper shows how a business can measure these costs from its own job, approval and payment data, and what a delivery record needs to contain to support acceptance and invoicing.
“We have run field delivery for eighteen years, and the work itself was rarely the problem. Proving it was: the revisit for a missed check, the invoice nobody could reconcile, the payment waiting on a sign-off. FortyFive keeps the record and the work together, so finishing the job moves the money forward.” — Toby Forman, CEO, FortyFive
The platform
FortyFive gives the business accountable to the customer the tools to set requirements before a job starts, manage its teams and partners, capture evidence on site and connect accepted work to invoicing. Engineers and delivery partners see what is expected before they arrive and submit a record that supports approval and payment. FortyFive runs standalone from the first job, with no integration required, and keeps each customer’s data separate from every other customer’s.
Payment services, including factoring and extended payment terms, are planned, initially through finance partners and subject to eligibility and terms.
